Working with Centrd Life means you will be going on the journey to better your emotional health. This month, we’ll be showcasing a series of blogs that discuss the steps on that journey, and why they are essential and healing. The first step on the journey is self-awareness.

Self-awareness is the foundation for emotional intelligence. By being self-aware, we can understand, anticipate, and manage our emotions. Rather than responding impulsively, or repeating habits without understanding our motivations behind them, self-awareness allows us to understand the “why” behind the “what.” In terms of our relationship with food, self-awareness gives us the tools to unpack our emotions around eating. It allows us to understand the root causes of our emotions.  When eating a certain food makes us feel bad emotionally, it is not about the food itself, but about something much deeper.  Practising self-awareness allows us to dig to that deep place, and ultimately, begin the process of healing.

xx,

Andrea
