St. Lucia

5th – 12th November 2021

We are going to Saint Lucia, as this island seems to be just the perfect spot with its amazing weather in November, great beaches and enough to explore for any tropical thrill-seekers!

THE ISLAND…

Saint Lucia is an Eastern Caribbean island nation with a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. Its coast is home to volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, fishing villages and unspoilt landscape calls out to be explored in the most adventurous way. You can zip-line through the rainforest, hike the Piton Mountains or cruise through the world’s only drive-in volcano. There’s every kind of watersport to try, from kayaking and windsurfing to deep-sea fishing and jet-skiing.

THE PLAN…

We will spend 7 nights there from 5th November in a stunning boutique hotel with multiple private villas called Cap Maison. (you can check them out here). They are a family owned hotel with beautiful villas and suites and you can really see the care and love they’ve put into the place. You would share a room with one other person (there are twin beds), however if this is a hard no for you, there is also a possibility to get you a room alone for an additional $100/night, just let us know and we will see what can be done.

THE ACTIVITIES…

We will have the lovely Nati show us some of the most beautiful spots and things she discovered while spending 3 months there recently that only locals would know about. You will have the chance to climb the Pitons (one is a hike the other is a more serious climb), take part in a snorkelling boat trip with a local, have grilled fish lunch on the beach, do water sports (paddle board, hobby cat etc), visit to local waterfalls, vista to the natural sulphur baths, make rum punch on the beach and so much more!!

AT YOUR OWN PACE…

The activities are all non-compulsory, which means you can decide to join in, or spend your time doing something else, you get to design your trip. We will provide you options and will put together a plan for the week, but you can do as little or as much of it as you’d like.

Snorkeling &
Beach Lunch

One of my favourite activites when on the island was going out on a boat with Captain Gillian. He is authentically local, grew up in a fishing village neighbouring the stunning Marigot Bay. As he takes us along the shoreline, he knows the best places to snorkle, the spots where well-known movies were shot, but he can also tell us interesting details about local life. While we go down to look at the wonderful reefs, he will be sourcing our lunch. The last stop of our snorkelling trip will be a local beach, where Captain Gillian grills our fish lunch on open fire. He will add local fruit and his famous homemade souskai (creole dressing).

Please bring your snorkelling kit if you can.

Included:

4 hour snorkelling boat trip from Marigot Bay
grilled fish lunch
water and local beer
homemade rum punch if we are lucky 🙂

Not included: transfer, gratuity, also please note we cannot provide vegetarian or vegan option for this experience.

Price: $100 plus transfer ( approx £70)

Pigeon Island,
Beach & Dinner

The 44 acre Landmark encapsulates Saint Lucia’s rich heritage. Originally inhabited by Amerindians, the island later became occupied by, as early as the mid-sixteenth century, French Pirates. This strategic location was also valued by the French and British military, who at alternating periods from the 17th to 19th centuries, utilised Pigeon Island as a naval base. In addition to the military ruins the landmark contains:

Two sandy beaches ideal for swimming, snorkelling or just lounging;
Expansive lawns, interspersed with coconut and almond trees, flowering plants, calabash trees
A full-service restaurant, named for “Jambe de Bois”, located right on the water’s edge;
Panoramic views from Fort Rodney and Signal Peak of Saint Lucia’s northern coastline, with views of neighbouring Martinique on clear days; and
Amerindian caves.

Included:

Entry and transfer to Pigeon Island

Not included: beach towels, dinner and drinks at the restaurant

Price: $25 ( approx £18)

Gros Piton
Hike

Venture on a hike along the Gros Piton Nature Trail with a local guide and be rewarded with incredible views of St Lucia! Discover the caves and tunnels of Anse L’lvrogne Canyon where 18th-century rebel fighters hid during the island’s slave uprising, and attempt the steep climb to the summit of Gros Piton. Enjoy panoramic vistas of the island and the gorgeous Caribbean Sea!

The hike takes about 4 hours.

Included:

Transfer to and from the hotel.
Dedicated guide for the whole of the hike.
Entry fee to the National Park and to the Gros Piton Nature Trail.

Not included: Gratuity, lunch

Price: $200 (approx £140)

Petit Piton
Climb

Not for the faint-hearted!

The smaller of the two symbolic mountains of the island is actually more difficult to conqeur. Petit Piton is defintitely more of a climb than a hike, but it is a great way to push your boundaries and challenge yourself. Towards the top of the mountain the ascent is nearly vertical and there will be ropes to use. However, once you are on the top, the view will take your breath away…as well as the sense of accomplishment.

The climb can take up to 5 hours

Included:

-Transfer to and from the hotel.

-Dedicated guide for the whole of the hike.

-Entry fee to the National Park and to the Petit Piton Nature Trail.

Not included: Gratuity, lunch

Price: $250 ( approx £180)

Beach Shack
Dinner

The island’s most famous beach shack serving real Caribbean style food with dangerously strong cocktails…The Bob Marley will make your face go numb..
It is located on the land strip on the beach leading up to Pigeon Island. Opened during COVID lockdown in 2020 by local entrepreneur Ulrich who owned restaurants in Florida. It is incredibly popular among locals as well as tourists for a reason.

Real laid back island vibes 🙂

Included: This is just a suggestion, we can reserve the table but food and drinks will be a’la carte and paid individually

Price: Depends on the number of Bob Marley’s you can handle…
